DDD Terms Explained — Plain Language For Arizona Families
The DDD system uses a lot of acronyms. Here is what they all mean.
Alphabetical List Of DDD Terms
- AHCCCS
- Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System. Arizona's Medicaid program that funds DDD services for eligible individuals.
- ALTCS
- Arizona Long Term Care System. The Medicaid program within AHCCCS specifically for people who need long-term support services.
- ATC — Attendant Care
- Hands-on help with bathing, dressing, mobility, meals, and daily household tasks — always delivered the way the person prefers.
- DCW — Direct Care Worker
- A trained and certified caregiver who provides hands-on support to individuals with developmental disabilities.
- DDD — Division of Developmental Disabilities
- The Arizona state agency that oversees services for individuals with developmental disabilities and connects families with qualified providers.
- EVV — Electronic Visit Verification
- A system required by the state that electronically verifies when and where habilitation services are delivered.
- HAH — Habilitation Hourly
- One-to-one support that teaches daily living skills, community participation, and independence — one skill at a time.
- ISP — Individual Support Plan
- A personalized plan created with the individual, their family, and their Support Coordinator outlining goals and authorized services.
- OLCR — Office of Licensing Certification and Regulation
- The Arizona office that licenses, monitors, and audits habilitation agencies to ensure quality and compliance.
- Qualified Vendor
- A provider agency that has been approved by Arizona DDD to deliver services to DDD members. Love & Care Habilitation is a DDD Qualified Vendor.
- RSP — Respite
- Short-term relief care for families and primary caregivers — giving everyone in the household room to rest, work, or recharge.
- Support Coordinator
- A DDD-assigned professional who helps families navigate the system, create the ISP, connect with providers, and monitor service quality.
